This is super exciting to me.
Google just announced the $249 Google Chromebook!!!
I've been using the original CR-48 laptops in my room and they are preferred by me and many of the students to the MacBooks that we also have.
The CR-48 is not the most solid computer in the world but the concept behind it is amazing. I've used a Samsung Chromebook and it is much more solid and still has the amazing concept. Now, Samsung and Google have gotten the cost of laptop down to $249. That is marvelous.
I can't wait to get my hands on one and see how sturdy it is and how well it works. I might even shell out my own $249.
Here a few reasons it is exciting to me:
Boots in 10 seconds. That is a huge deal in school. The couple minutes it takes for MacBooks causes headaches.
Instant waking from sleep. Instant. Again, huge in schools.
Log into the computer and you are logged into your Google account. More time saving.
All the extensions and web apps work wonderfully.
You can get 4 Chromebooks for the price of one MacBook.
You can get 2 Chromebooks for the price of one iPad.
