Last night, I needed a break from the constant noise of a 4 year old and 9 month old. I traded it for the constant hum of '83 Honda 550. Very nice.
I got the headlight to stay on! That was job one. A little electrical tape around the base of the loose fuse and I was on my way. I road out Bass Lake Road to Crystal. Took Broadway back to Robbinsdale. Then I curved up around a lake by the North Memorial Hospital and back to the parkway. I rode the parkway home.
It was great. Probably only 15 miles total. A bit windy but it was fun to be out at a time where the headlight actually makes it easier to see AND easier to be seen.
So far, I've been pretty amazed at the drivers around me. I haven't had any issues with any cars. There was one semi who pulled out in front of me. Luckily, I was planning on him doing this and had slowed down and covered my brakes. The brakes worked perfectly and the semi was oblivious to me and my Honda.
